Heel to Music

We’ve all seen Pudsey, the cute dancing Border Collie cross, strut his funky stuff on TV – and, I for one, will openly admit I have been totally mesmerised and amazed. How does this teenage girl train her dog to do such fabulous tricks?

Surely getting your dog to sit when you ask is hard enough - let alone getting them to ‘dance’ to music!

Earlier this year, we were all treated to a glimpse into how the doggy pros do things. We, and many of you, were left in complete awe, as we watched The GB 2013 Heel work to Music Team show off their skills in the Victor Hugo Terminal pet exercise area.

A team of 7 handlers and 10 dogs were hand selected by The Kennel Club of Great Britain to represent our country in the 2013 Open European Championship in the Netherlands.

Being a team of animal lovers we were naturally delighted that the team chose Eurotunnel Le Shuttle to travel with their dogs and kindly accepted our invitation to perform a 30 minute demonstration in our dedicated pet exercise area.

Great Britain went on to come 5th in the team event and GB’s Kath Hardman with September Spice came 8th in the Individual Freestyle Final. Go Team GB!
