Passive Millimetric Wave Facility (PMMW)
This equipment uses passive waves to detect any people hidden in the vehicle. All vehicles pass through PMMW, at a maximum speed of 10 mph/16 km/h, which operates in real-time to avoid delays.
If the check returns a positive result the vehicle is directed to undertake a CO2 check. If this result is negative the vehicle is directed towards the Freight Check-in.
Drivers may choose to have a CO2 check, even if the PMMW check is negative, as part of their own security/safety checks.
