The Channel Tunnel was one of the largest construction projects of the 20th Century and even today, at 25 miles, it is still the longest under-sea tunnel in the world. Selected as one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World, it transports thousands of people and millions of products between England and France every day.
Buried 380ft below sea, marble and chalk, many of the wonderful things the tunnel makes possible every day go unseen. So, we’ve worked with the BBC to give you a behind the scenes look at how we keep the busiest rail system in the world operating.
As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, you’ll meet the dedicated and passionate teams that keep everything on track at this vital link with Europe.
