If you're planning to go to a music festival this summer, but fancy trying something a little different, then head to Europe and discover a whole new music scene, as well as all your favourite big name acts. Plus, with Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, travelling with all your mates plus your camping gear has never been easier. Eurockéennes de Belfort

Eurockéennes is held in a nature reserve on the shores of Lac de Malsaucy, which is about 10km outside of the town of Belfort. The popular music festival hosts performances from a wide array of music genres, including rock, electronica, heavy metal, chanson, pop, folk and reggae, attracting an eclectic crowd.

Top bands the Pixies, Franz Ferdinand and The Black Keys will be headlining the main stage each night. Plus, other acts such as Skrillex, Jagwar Ma, Salut C'est Cool and Biffy Clyro will be performing on various stages around the festival over the weekend.

Held from 4th – 6th July 2014, tickets for the three-day event cost €105, including camping, or €45 for single day tickets. To get to Eurockéennes from the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Calais terminal, it's about a six-hour drive through the French countryside.

A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise

A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise, more commonly known as simply the ‘Lowlands' festival, is one of the most popular music events in the Netherlands. As well as providing an eclectic mix of music, from rock and alternative to hip hop and dance, you can also find events such as cinema and street theatre, and even the odd literature reading or ballet performance!

To give you a flavour of just some of the incredible acts lined up for this year's Lowlands festival, you will get the chance to hear music from the Kaiser Chiefs, Imagine Dragons, Volbeat, First Aid Kit and Chet Faker. Or look out for special performances of ‘Forces of Movement' by the Dutch National Ballet, and ‘War Horse' by Stichting Theateralliantie.

The Lowlands festival will take place from 15th – 17th August 2014, and the tickets cost €195 which includes the three-day festival, camping and the shuttle bus service. You can even upgrade your ticket to include access to the neighbouring Walibi Holland theme park! Driving from Calais will take you around four hours, with the route winding through northern France, Belgium and across the Netherlands.

Rock en Seine

Rock en Seine is held within the beautiful, Parc de Saint-Cloud, the gardens of a former Chateau. The festival grounds are just outside of Paris, which gives you the perfect excuse to team your music festival up with a holiday in the City of Lights!

The top headliners performing on the main stage include the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy and Lana Del Ray, along with Queens Of The Stone Age and Portishead, to name but a few. Elsewhere in the festival, you will find alternative acts such as Die Antwoord, Flume, La Roux and even Blondie!

Rock en Seine will be held from 22nd – 24th August 2014, with tickets costing €119 for all three days or €49 per day ticket. You can choose to stay within Paris itself and commute to the festival, or purchase a separate camping ticket. To drive to Paris from Calais, it will take you just three hours straight down the A1.
