We are delighted that, earlier this year, our Samphire Hoe nature reserve was awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award for the ninth consecutive year.

An inspiring and tranquil nature reserve, we created Samphire Hoe by using almost 5 million cubic metres of chalk marl that we extracted from under the Channel.

Today, the 30-hectare site, attracts up to 100,000 visitors a year from dog walkers to all who enjoy being outdoors. Perfect for all the nature lovers out there, Samphire Hoe is home to hundreds of species of plants, insects and birds.

The Green Flag Award is a scheme that was created to recognise and reward the best green spaces in the UK. With 1,424 parks and spaces across the UK flying the flag we feel exceptionally honoured to be one of them.
