By travelling with Eurotunnel, you never have to leave your vehicle. Pack up at home and head to our Folkestone terminal, where you can board our shuttles safely and securely after security checks. It is actually simpler than ordering at a drive-thru restaurant to board a Eurotunnel shuttle!

It’s only a 35-minute crossing to Calais, France, and due to social distancing measures you must remain in your car for the duration of this short journey. The toilets on board our shuttles are closed for the time being, but you can still use the toilets in our terminals and allocation lanes. It’s only a short journey and once you arrive in France there are service stations with public facilities.

Once you reach Calais and drive on into France, the roads are incredibly easy to navigate, with clear signage and affordable tolls. Driving in France will take you through some stunning countryside and to exciting cities, with lakes and beaches in between.

The guidelines are to maintain a 2-metre distance between people and travelling with Eurotunnel makes this easy to do. You are in your car at all times, with only your chosen travelling companions, from home to your final destination.

Travelling in your car also removes the worry around baggage restrictions, as you can pack everything you need and have quick and easy access to it throughout your journey.
