Around the world in four amazing days of music!

Young and old alike will enjoy the “Violons, Chants du Monde” festival. From the 21st to the 24th May, you can sample all the music the world has to offer in and around Calais.

The event showcases music with diverse influences, from salsa to Irish violin via gypsy melodies, with artists travelling from all around the globe to perform. And with Calais only 35 minutes from the UK with Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, it's an event not to be missed!

From further afield, Grammy nominated American musician, Casey Driessen, will be flying in to perform songs from his new album, Singularity, and Didier Lockwood, the project sponsor, will be presenting his latest show currently on in Paris. This is an exceptional opportunity to discover these major artists without having to travel further afield.

The festival is also a chance to discover some unusual and charming venues in Calais. Enjoy a concert at dawn aboard the Majest’in, a panoramic public transport boat, popular with locals, while it cruises on the canals. If you attend one of the shows at the Cité de la dentelle et de la mode (International Centre for Lace and Fashion), you can also take in the temporary exhibition, “Modern Love”. Last but not least, the beautiful Notre-Dame de Calais church promises excellent acoustics for music lovers to lose themselves in.
