What ticket options are available with LeShuttle?

Whether you are planning a day trip to Calais or that long sought-after summer in the south of France, LeShuttle has a ticket type ideal for your needs.

Day Trips

From hypermarkets to history, chic beaches to medieval cities, you’d be amazed by what you can do on a day trip to France with LeShuttle.

Lille’s Christmas market

What is a Day Trip & Overnight ticket?

A LeShuttle day trip ticket can only be booked for travel on the same day or successive days with one overnight stay.

Calais, Boulogne and Lille

The classic cross-Channel hop might start and end for some day trippers at the historic Roman port where we have our terminal. If it’s wine, beer and cheese you are looking for, Calais has all the shopping options. But there is plenty of history too, and unmissable sights like the 19th-century lighthouse.

The fishing port of Boulogne-sur-Mer is just half an hour’s drive from Calais and we can’t recommend it highly enough. Here you’ll taste some of the best seafood in France, freshly caught of course, and get up close and personal with sharks, sea lions and other marvels of the ocean at the Nausicaá National Sealife Centre, the biggest aquarium in Europe!

Lille is around a 1½ hour drive from our Calais terminal and is the perfect destination for a day trip or one night break. Rich with history, culture and fine food, there is plenty to see while strolling around the old town. Plus, if you’re here during the festive season Lille has one of the best Christmas markets in France.

The beaches of Normandy and Brittany are wild and beautiful

Explore Hauts-de-France

Venture further afield in the Hauts-de-France region for long sandy beaches, gastronomic delights and fascinating history. You could be exploring the secret wartime bunkers near Saint-Omer, drinking in the history and culture of Amiens or taking your dog for a walk along the dunes of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage.

Short Stays

Perhaps the classic way to see France on a city break or long weekend is on a short stay ticket.

What is a Short Stay Saver ticket?

A LeShuttle Short Stay Saver ticket is for breaks of 5 days or less. Here are some ideas of places you can go on a Short Stay Saver ticket.

Chateaux and vineyards line the Loire Valley

Paris

You can drive to Paris in around 3½ hours from our Calais terminal, and whether you are going for the first or the umpteenth time, ‘the City of Love’ is always an unforgettable experience. More people travel to Paris with LeShuttle than any other destination, and whether you are there for the sightseeing, the shopping, the nightlife, the culture or, in 2024, the Olympics, the French capital will always leave you wanting more.

Normandy and Brittany

Northern France boasts a wealth of beautiful places, from the Gothic grandeur of Rouen to the fairytale island of Mont Saint-Michel, all within easy driving distance from Calais. The Normandy beaches have poignant wartime stories to tell, while Britanny is known for its pink granite coastline, picture-perfect half-timbered towns, stylish seaside resorts and spectacular clifftops.

Discover the Loire Valley

Nestled between northern and southern France, the Loire Valley is the perfect place for an escape. With more than a thousand vineyards, the Loire will take you around 5 hours to drive to, so there is plenty of time to brush up on your wine tasting terminology! If you’re not mad about the grape, don’t worry, because the Loire will still seduce you with its stunning landscapes, beautiful chateaux, picturesque villages and winding rivers.

It is easy to see why Bruges is called the ‘Venice of the North’

Into Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany

It always surprises people when they realise how close our Calais terminal is to France’s neighbours. Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany are all within half a day’s drive, and venturing a little further afield makes for a wonderful long weekend or city break. The beautiful city of Bruges is only 1 hour and 20 minutes away, Calais to Amsterdam takes around 4 hours and Cologne is only 4½ hours from Calais.

Long Stays

A LeShuttle Standard ticket is for a journey of any duration, with the Standard Refundable option also available. With this kind of ticket you can plan your dream holiday!

Soak up the sun in the South of France

From the rural tranquillity of the Dordogne to the chic glamour of Nice, a trip to the south of France should be on the wish list of any Francophile. From the beaches of the French Riviera to walled citadels and Roman cities, the south is drenched in sun and history. Visit the famous half-bridge of Avignon, the town where Van Gogh painted and the cultural melting pot of Marseille.

Avignon is one of France’s most historic cities

Drive to the slopes

Let’s face it, going skiing involves a lot of gear. Instead of luggage restrictions and fees, what could be better than packing everything you need in your car and driving through France to the Alps or the Pyrenees? With a Standard ticket you can do this. Most Alpine destinations are within a day’s drive of Calais, so you will still have a good week or more of skiing at the likes of Chamonix, La Rosière or Zermatt. Driving to the slopes won’t always be downhill, but it will be spectacular!

Take the ultimate road trip

If you’ve always dreamed of a tarmac tour of France, here’s your chance. Travel from Calais to the Côte d’Azur, Burgundy to Boulogne, taking in breathtaking coastline, heavenly vistas, historic cities and magical villages. Whether you want to plan your every stop or take it as it comes, a French road trip is the ultimate way to explore this wonderful country at your pace.
