COVID-19 Travel Requirements

Both the UK and French governments have introduced additional entry requirements and restrictions due to COVID-19. Please remember, it is your responsibility to ensure you check and comply with the latest health and travel regulations. Anyone not meeting travel regulations or failing to produce the required documentation for their journey will not be permitted to travel.

We are open and our service is running

However, due to the need for all passengers to comply with the COVID-19 travel requirements specified by the UK and FR governments, all Le Shuttle bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance. It is no longer possible to purchase a ticket at check-in.

Travel from the UK to France - Legal requirements

We do our best to interpret and update this page as soon as advice from the French government changes. For the very latest advice on entering France, we recommend checking diplomatie.gouv.frinterieur.gouv.fr and uk.ambafrance.org before travel.

1. French Health declarations (A)

Unvaccinated passengers over 12 years old must complete a "Statement of honour".
Unvaccinated passengers over 18 years old must complete a "Statement of honour" and a "Travel certificate to Metropolitan France".

Fully vaccinated passengers will not be required to present either form to enter French territory.

These must be completed for each passenger, and presented digitally or printed to border control authorities.

2. A negative COVID test (B)

Unvaccinated passengers over 12 years old travelling on our passenger service require a negative result from a non-NHS PCR test or a non-NHS Antigen (lateral flow) test taken in the previous 24 hours. At French border controls you will need to present digital or paper evidence of the negative result from the test provider.

Fully vaccinated passengers will not be required to present a negative test result to enter French territory. Proof of vaccination status will need to be presented at border controls. More information.

3. Confirm your Health Declarations prior to travel

This is confirmation that you are aware of and have followed the steps above and are ready to travel. These will be checked and validated as evidence of your compliance with the Government's requirements to travel. The absence of these document and/or any of the supporting evidence completed for all passengers, may result in fines and travel refusal.

Prior to travel you must upload the required documents/results (A) and (B) above to your booking. You can add your documents by logging into My Eurotunnel (using either your My Eurotunnel account email address and password, or one-off "guest" bookings can be logged into using the booking reference number and password found on your booking confirmation email - how to find your password).

Each passenger must bring ALL the above documents and supporting evidence with them, ready to present to the authorities.

Please be aware:

  • Anyone arriving from the UK must quarantine for seven days (unless transiting through France in under 24hrs, under 12 years old or are fully vaccinated)
  • If you will be travelling through France to another country you will still need all of the above.

All passengers aged 16 or over must complete an individual passenger locator form before arrival at the terminal in France (details of children under 16 must be included on the form completed by the adult accompanying them). Each passenger locator form must specify the unique reference number of the booked pre-travel testing package (item 3). 2. A negative COVID test (B)

All passengers aged 11 or over travelling on our passenger service require a negative result from a non-NHS PCR or a non-NHS Antigen (lateral flow) test taken in the previous 72hrs (It's your responsibility to ensure the test meets the minimum standards for sensitivity, specificity and viral load details.).
