Please be aware that there are strict requirements for travelling, and some restrictions on movement have been put in place by the UK and French authorities. There are more details below.

Travel from the UK to France - Legal requirements


1. Sworn statement and travel certificate

This is one document which includes two parts. Please ensure you complete both parts for everyone who is traveling before getting to the terminal. - Download it here

2. Pre-travel COVID-19 testing

All customers aged 11 and over travelling on our passenger service require a negative result. Please click here for more information on testing for both directions of travel.

3. There is currently an overnight curfew in France

Travel at other times is restricted except for specific reasons. You'll need to download and fill out a Travel Exemption Certificate stating your reason to travel. More information can be found here.

Essential information to enter the UK

The United Kingdom is taking steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

1. Pre-travel testing

All persons (including UK nationals and residents) arriving in the UK from outside the common travel area must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 3 days of departure to the UK. 2. Passenger locator form

To protect your health and others’, everyone must complete an online passenger locator form before arrival in the United Kingdom.

3. Self-isolation on arrival

All arrivals must self-isolate for 10 days unless exempt. Check the list of exempt countries immediately before travel and the list of work-related exemptions if travelling for work.

4. Face coverings

It is a legal requirement that you wear a face covering on public transport in the UK.

5. Test to release

If you self-isolate in England, you may opt into Test to Release. For further information please visit: www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-test-to-release-for-international-travel

Failure to comply with the above measures is a criminal offence and you could be fined. Please visit www.gov.uk/uk-border-control for detailed public health advice and requirements for entering the UK.

Terminal Buildings and Shuttles

Our terminals are open during the day, but many facilities are unavailable due to Government guidelines. Toilets and vending machines are also available in the boarding lanes at both our Folkestone and Calais terminals. Please be aware that customers must remain in their vehicles on the shuttle so toilets on board are closed.

Information & advice

Download & install the NHS COVID-19 app
We encourage customers to download and install the NHS COVID-19 app to help fight the spread of the virus and save lives. Don't forget to "check-in" to our terminal buildings using the QR codes located on our entrances, if you enter the terminal. 

Eurotunnel travel insurance

Eurotunnel’s new Covid-19 Travel insurance and Combined products now include cover for cancellation prior to travel, curtailment, quarantine and medical expenses whilst overseas.

European Motor Breakdown cover is not affected by any travel restrictions.

Most ticket types have a full year from date of original purchase to be used, as long as amended before the day of your booked travel and there are no admin fees for changing dates.
